A destination-led circuit breaker designed to turn competitive VCs into a collaborative ecosystem.
Mission: The trans-Tasman tech ecosystem was suffering from siloed competition among VC partners. The mission was to align these competitive stakeholders to collectively lead a thriving regional ecosystem, demonstrating that the value of collective knowledge outweighs individual competition.
Design: I designed a 3-day destination experience built on a ‘Circuit-Breaker’ framework. We utilised high-stakes settings (Queenstown, NZ and McLaren Vale, SA) to remove leaders from their daily operational noise. The architecture focused on peer-to-peer workshops and vulnerability-led networking to create the physical trust required for long-term financial collaboration.
Impact: Established a thriving trans-Tasman tech ecosystem, leading to an increase in co-investment deals among participants and a 95% retention year-on-year.
